Tales From The Happiest Place On Earth

Disney world, “The Happiest Place on Earth”, is the most visited recreational resort in the world. That may not be a surprise, but you may not have known it is also the largest recreational resort in the world. Okay, that probably isn’t a surprise to anyone as well. However, most people don’t understand the sheer size of Disney World. I’ve been there three times, but it was my third trip last March with my senior class that gave me an appreciation of Disney World’s vastness I had not had before. However, the scope of my experiences at Disney World was not limited by its size or even its attractions. I had never been on a trip like this before with my school. It was an adventure filled with excitement, drama, adventure, and most of all Disney.

It was 3:00am when the buses departed for Newark, NJ airport. If you’re wondering whether we were tired, I’ll try to put the trip into better perspective. This trip is what everyone had been waiting for since 6th grade. What could be more exhilarating than a 4 day trip to Disney World with everyone you had been going to school with since kindergarten? After the 2 hour bus ride we departed from the airport. I wish I could talk about the beautiful view of Disney World from the jet, but unfortunately I didn’t have a window seat. We arrived at the airport, collected our luggage, and headed to the hotel. This was the All Star Sports Resort located right in Disney. My arrival at the resort altered my Disney trip imagination a bit. I was imagining a luxurious super hotel, and instead we got something right above what I would consider a motel. At least we got to ride JetBlue, it couldn’t all be perfect. Anyway, I went to the room with my roommates, three of my good friends. We looked at each other and smiled as we knew the next 4 days would be filled with fun, fun, and more fun.

Animal Kingdom is one of the four main Disney parks. I decided with a few of my friends that this would be the first park we go to. That’s when the drama started. Some people didn’t want to go to Animal Kingdom, so they just left. Some people were left behind just because the bus was too crowded. When we arrived my friend and I broke off from the group to explore the park on our own. This park is amazing for any animal lover. We spent the entire day there just getting to all the rides.
